Presenters or classes may change

AJ Renard:

AJ Renard has been involved in the BDSM world her entire adult life, although she was a dark little thing far before that. She has a deep passion for teaching about BDSM, and is pursuing her Masters to work with the kink community in clinical practice and political advocacy.

AJ worked for a number of years as a bondage and fetish model, and still loves shooting both kink and non-fetish projects. She practices self-rigging and suspension, and finds her happy place when there is rope, electricity, knives, boots, impact, fear, and a lot of crying involved. She also makes chainmaille for her shop, Foxy Feisty Redhead, when she manages to find free time.

AJ loves teaching about consent, negotiations, bottoming for the Violet Wand, perspectives on D/s, bottoming for intense and edgeplay, and behavioral science in PE dynamics. She also loves demo bottoming for her Dominant, and things that make her shy in front of groups of people.

Bottoming for the Violet Wand

Sat 9:00-10:30 - Granite

Bottoming for the Violet Wand is a class focused on skills for Violet Wand bottoms, or those interested in bottoming for electrical play. We will discuss safety, how to vet and assess Wand Tops' skills and knowledge, how to negotiate the type of play and experience you want, the after-effects of a wand scene, and more! This class also provides a hands-on opportunity to experience a variety of different sensations from the wand, allowing both new and experienced bottoms a chance to try different types of electrodes and toys. While the class is geared towards bottoms of all skill levels, Tops are welcome, particularly if they want to gain more knowledge about how to effectively and safely introduce new bottoms to the Violet Wand.

Power Exchange with an Experience Differential

Sun 11:45-1:15 - Rose Solarium

Many Power Exchange relationships involve partners with differing levels of experience and involvement with the lifestyle. One partner may have a tremendous amount of play experience but is new to a PE dynamic, or one partner may be introducing the other to the lifestyle in general. How do you navigate these disparities while keeping the Power Exchange in tact? If the s-type is the one with the larger knowledge base, how do you maintain the dynamic, if the D-type has more experience how do you keep expectations realistic and not take advantage or overwhelm the s-type? We will explore how to navigate these potential issues, how to discuss them, and ways to work around and avoid them.

Anne:

Anne has been in the lifestyle for over thirty years. She is an avid educator, vendor, developer and user of the violet wand who has authored four books on the subject, two of which are gender specific. The books: Basic Violet Wand and Advanced Violet wands, available on Amazon.com are part of a series and include a How-to DVD; for those who wish to learn in a more private setting or to continue the education available in the classes at home.
Anne has been privileged to present at VASE, NELA, Black Rose Educational classes, Colonial Kink, Fountain City Fetish Fair in Kansas, the Exploratorium at Floating World, KinkyConNH, BESS, CAPEX, The Aviary and various other groups and munches across the Northeast.

Electrified CBT

Sat 6:45 - 8:15 - Rose Solarium

45 Min class deals exclusively with electrified CBT. Demo of various ties, care and techniques. This class is an advanced class for people who are either experienced with a violet wand and want to explore it's use as a part of CBT OR experienced at CBT and want to explore the addition of electricity.

Advanced Violet Wand Play

Sun 2:30-4:00 - Woodside

Advanced violet wand class may include the following topics: a brief overview of the safety necessary for the violet wand, using the violet wand along with conductive rope and Shibari techniques, which provides a way to bring predicament bondage into the play, use of the violet wand for temporary branding, and a discussion of Violet Wand fire play. Fire play with violet wand is an interesting way to bring fire play into venues where traditional fire play is not allowed. Fire play with the violet wand can be both relaxing and sadistic. The advanced class also covers skin care and after care for that type of play.

Bosch:

Bosch has been tying people up for over a decade now. Sometimes making it look pretty, sometimes making it hurt, but always enjoying himself in the process. In his vanilla life he is a music teacher, a web designer, a father, a very kind and generous guy. In his non-vanilla life he is still all those things, but is not afraid of showing his dominant, sadistic side to those who appreciate that sort of thing.

Rope Bondage 101: The Basics

Sat 9:00-10:30 - Camelot Court

Why would I want to tie someone up? How do I tie someone up? Where do I start? What kind of rope do I use? How long should it be? What are the safety concerns? What is a 'bowline' and why should I learn to tie it? All of these questions and more will be explored. And along the way we'll learn the basics, single & double column ties, the chest harness, and a hitch or two. We will practice what we've learned and discuss how to combine ties, have fun, and improvise.

Secret Wearable Rope

Sat 3:15-4:45 - Granite

Do you like the feel of rope on your skin? Do you like the excitement of wearing rope to work, school, family gatherings or other vanilla settings? Do want to require your rope bottom to wear a rope reminder of their submission or to improve/modify their posture or the way they walk? This class is for you! We will talk about what's possible to conceal and how to conceal it. Most ties we discuss can be modified for self-tying. We will also talk about rope diameter and texture and how that can add to the experience. We will also incorporate some simple microbondage ties and techniques.

Rope Corsets

Sun 11:45-1:15 - Granite

We will work on 2 or 3 different ways of tying rope to completely cover and squeeze a body. We'll work on ways of adding structure to the rope so that it does what corsets traditionally do, i.e. squeeze in the some places, support in others. We will explore the tools you need to design a number of different corsets to fit a number of different body types. Although corsets are traditionally worn around the torso, this technique can be modified for multiple parts of the body (or even two bodies if you get creative).

This class does NOT require a rope bottom nor does not require experience. We will be doing most of our work tying rope around our own thighs. Your own thighs are just easier and they don't wiggle when you tickle them (usually).

Courtney Jane:

She is the founder and former organizer of KinkyCon, a NH based annual kink educational conference that has been ongoing since 2009. Sensational Head Play: Hair Pulling and Face Slapping for Play

Sat 1:30-3:00 - Granite

When done correctly, hair pulling and face slapping can leave your eyes rolling in the back of your head, falling deeper into a headspace, and closer to your partner than imagined. This class covers psychology, safety, technique, and many examples of how to bring your partner to their knees. A partner is not needed, but this will be an all-encompassing lecture, demo, and hands-on class. Note that this subject starts with hair pulling and ends with face slapping, to provide education on both topics, and allows space between the two if face slapping is triggering/ hard limit/ too edgy to attend that portion. Come learn a few new ways to take your partners' breath away.

Group Sex: Lessons Learned from a Decade of Whoredom

Sat 5:00 - 6:30 - Rose Solarium

Well, let's take a few steps back and go over the lessons learned from a "twue" slut who has participated in countless threesomes, orgies, and gang bangs over the last decade.

Using a discussion format, we will dive into our primary hesitations around enjoying group dynamics, ways to move past our fears, and a number of tips and tricks for threesomes, orgies, and gang bangs. A partner is not necessary for this class but an open mind is required. All curiosity levels welcome.

A FISTful of Fun

MrKinkyBear and taylorella_KB:

MrKinkyBear is your friendly neighborhood Sadist. His kink journey began 13 years ago while in service to an older woman. Once released from her service he was able to dabble in many aspects of the kink and BDSM world. He then discovered the community about 7 years ago and he found his passion in pain. MrKinkyBear's favorite kink is learning about 'all of the things' but he truly thrives with needle play as he is able to combine artistry with suffering. When he is not inflicting pain he can be found spending time with his wives, MrsKinkyBear and taylorella_KB.

taylorella_KB is a true sadomasochist with a love for the connection found through pain. She found the community and her KinkyBear partners about 5 years ago and hasn't looked back. While she finds herself on both sides of play she is usually found on the bottom.. except when it comes to needles. Her medical training united with her love for poking a willing pincushion makes her a needle enthusiast. Her analytical style combined with MrKinkyBear's creative style make them a perfect prickly pair.

What CAN a KNIFE do for you?

Sun 11:45-1:15 - Woodside

Knives elicit many different responses. Many of those reactions excite me as a kinkster; fear, arousal, anticipation, excitement, anxiety, rapid heartbeats, giggling, even relaxation. This class will cover the safety of and the risks of playing with knives, how to select a knife that works for you, caring for and proper cleaning of your knife(vies). Through demonstration there will be examples of techniques that can be used to elicit intended reactions and desired results.

Bringing Foot Play into the Bedroom

Sun 4:15-5:45 - Woodside

This class will take foot play beyond the polite. The feet are amazingly talented appendages that can do wondrous things. As a female foot fetishist I am frequently asked "What else besides massage and worship is there to do with feet"? or some variation of the question. This class is my answer. We will explore all the places the feet can go and the things they can do for you and your partner from seductive to sexual.

Her classes focus on adding depth and understanding to the skills we have as well as helping new people enter the scene. She can be found poking sadists in the northeast area or spinning fire whenever it's warm enough to be outside naked.

Negotiation 201

Sat 6:45 - 8:15 - Woodside

Negotiation is a core skill for everyone in the scene and it's something we use every single time we play. When we get started with kink we are taught the very basics of negotiation; how to establish consent and set the basic rules of a scene. The longer we play the more we understand ourselves and our partners, giving us freedom to widen the bounds and expand the rules of our play. Once we stray outside the bounds of typical play we find that basic negotiation skills only get us so far. They are still crucial for establishing a baseline but they are too rigid to express the complexity of our needs and communicate the ways in which a scene flows. This class will build on your existing skills to help you create better scenes between you and your partner.

Advanced Bottoming: Foundation and Growth

Sun 10:00-11:30 - Granite

As timid new bottoms we learn to lay down and get hit. As we grow we learn skills that help us to identify the good tops, what we need to to do stay safe, and how to negotiate. Essentially, we learn how to get to the 'lie down' part faster and more efficiently. Those skills are crucial for getting past the frenzy that new bottoms experience but they are essentially a baseline that all bottoms need. In this class we will explore what it takes to step up your game from gleeful target to masterful bottom. So come and learn what it takes to bring your bottoming from competent to exemplary

Rope by Numbers: Chest and Legs

Sun 2:30-4:00 - Marquis

Rope's fun, right? And it's easy to learn! The tricky part is remembering what you learned a few days after the con.

In this class you'll learn how to tie two simple ties and walk away with an easy way to keep them in your head. The class will cover a gunslinger hip harness and a basic chest harness.

We will cover at least 4 of the following (class vote):spanking/hand impact, paddles, crops, floggers, canes and rods, dragon's tails, and devilish rattan implements. Everyone can work with something new, and there will be implements available for practice.

Safer Scene Negotiation

Sat 3:15-4:45 - Rose Solarium

This workshop helps you negotiate a scene so to make it as safe as possible - given interests and limits. And sometimes the safest decision is to decline until you have the chance to observe the individual in a scene or speak to someone who has played with this person.

This class includes a safer scene negotiation outline, discussion on negotiation, and role play practice so we can all feel much more comfortable - Top or bottom -in making scenes and play as enjoyable as possible. We will also cover safe words - why they are important - what they SHOULD mean - and what to expect should you use one.

We will cover synchronized and split time, forward and reverse spins, as well as throwing on vertical, horizontal and diagonal planes. This class is geared for the newcomer to Florentine style. As this is a technique and practice class, it is recommended that you bring a pair of matched floggers with you, or two different floggers that are close to the same size and weight.

Slow Down - Exploring the Sensuous Side of Rope

Sun 4:15-5:45 - Camelot Court

In our desire to "do rope right," we sometimes find ourselves lured away from the hot, erotic spark that first attracted us to rope bondage. In this class, we're going to create fun, energetic, sexy experiences that will bring us back to the real reason most of us love rope bondage: connection. We'll tap into our bodies and brains to create a kickass cocktail of sensual goodness, and you'l leave with body/brain techniques you can use any time you want to go deeper in your rope play.

No rope experience is required for this class.

All are welcome to attend this class - voyeurs are definitely welcome, but this is a hands-on, interactive class, so partnered people will probably get more out of it.

Sara Scalper:

Sara Scalper is a queer, nonmonogamous non-binary femme and ethical sadist who has been topping since 2002, has been involved in the kink community since 2004, and has been a part of the New England community since 2010. They self-identify as 75% intersexed being, 20% Amazonian woman, and 5% primal male (these identities are constantly in flux), but are always 100% ethical sadist. Primarily a physical sadist and impact top, they also get great pleasure from showing new folks in the scene how to top safely (via classes or one-on-one instruction) and/or how to negotiate so they have safe, satisfying scenes.

Sara has been teaching at kink events since 2013 and has taught at/for NELA/several Fleas, NH Kinky Con, GKENE, Bound in Boston, NEDS, Boston Invasions at the Society, Trans Spectrum Kinksters, Paingasms at the Society, MOB, Boston TNG, BKC, and Wicked Women. They can often be found with their lovely wife and collared submissive, AJ (who often helps them present their classes!), and their extended ''kinky family,'' and love to talk ethical nonmonogamy as much as they do BDSM.

You're a Sadist and It's Okay

Sat 10:45-12:15 - Woodside

Many of us have felt immense guilt when we've realized just how much we enjoy hurting people, but enjoying being sadistic is perfectly okay in a safe, ethical, and consensual context, and being able to be sadistic doesn't mean you must be cold or lack empathy. Discuss some of the difficulties you've have had when embracing your sadistic tendencies as well as engage in an exploration of why these difficult feelings occur. Explore misconceptions regarding sadism and where they come from, as well as different types of ethical sadism/sadist archetypes. This is largely a philosophical class, but there will be a "develop your inner sadist" portion where we'll discuss folks' burning concerns and share tips on ways to hurt without causing harm.

Body Impact-the Basic, the Complex, and the Cheats

Sat 5:00 - 6:30 - Granite

Although toys can be really fun to use during impact scenes, nothing is quite as effective at causing pain as using your built-in tools, i.e. parts of your body! Sara Scalper will show you a variety of techniques that will have your bottom squirming in pain even though you are only using your body and your imagination. You will learn which parts of the body are safe to hit, what the risks are for hitting each, and how to hit them properly. Sara will show topping techniques done with hands, elbows, knees, feet, and a few other body parts that might surprise you, as well as "cheats" that will help you incorporate a few toys into a your rough body play scenes. This class will make you think of "body language" in a completely different way!

Gwyny is active in the central Vermont Kink Community since 2011. She and her Daddy have created play parties, hosted a radio show, and mentored folks new to BDSM. Together they are raising a large blended family of free-spirited kids, attempt to be as self-sustainable as possible, and obsessively watch Doctor Who.

I'm here... now what?

Fri 7:00 - 8:30 - Rose Solarium

If you are most often found at the perimeter of a party or opting out at the last minute, you may find yourself struggling at some point during the event. Many people don't understand that we crave the experience of being at this gathering, but don't know how to participate fully when we often have a hard time even having simple conversations. With a few tips and some practice, we can enjoy the event as much as the extroverts do, without harming ourselves or needing our blanket forts.

Rope Bottoming 101

Sat 10:45-12:15 - Granite

From basic bondage to elaborate shibari, playing with rope can be beautiful and intimidating. There are many ways to experiment, but without some fundamental knowledge, it could be dangerous. In this workshop, we will discuss ways to protect yourself while gaining essential rope bottom skills, so you can fly (be suspended) if you desire.

Submissive self-care: how to ask for what you want

Sun 2:30-4:00 - Rose Solarium

When we are subbie by nature, we tend to want to gratify our Dom/Top so much that we often forget to take ourselves into account. Add to that the many social and cultural misconceptions about BDSM that we unintentionally internalize from a young age. Sometimes, even we believe some of the stereotypes and attitudes, without realizing they may be harmful or create personal strife. But, if we don't care for ourselves, how can we provide our Doms with what they desire?

In this workshop, we will discuss how to meet our needs and desires, as well as how to ask for them in a manner that will be sure to please even the strictest Top.

Revenge of the words: Communication Workshop

Sat 9:00-10:30 - Rose Solarium

Wording is hard. Finding the right language to express who you are and what you like and what you want is complicated. It gets even more complicated because people don't always interpret what we say in the way we intended it.
Come and learn about how to express yourself in ways that reflect your identity and communicate your personality. The class will be driven by participants' interests, covering topics such as how to use language for impact in journal/blog entries, writing effective profiles, and frameworks for negotiation, depending on what participants (and/or event organizers) are interested in.

Developing your Risk Profile

Sat 5:00 - 6:30 - Woodside

Rope involves risk. Both the fibers we use and the people we tie with are imperfect. We can't control everything that happens in a scene. But we can make informed choices about which types of risk we may be more willing, or entirely unwilling, to assume. Risk profiles are highly individual creatures: what seems reasonable to one person may not make sense for another. Class participants will work through a framework identifying the various levels of risk involved with different types of ties and suspensions. The purpose of the class is to encourage participants to develop individual profiles.
Though focused on rope, those interested in impact or edge play may also find the framework to be valuable.

Intimacy through Pain: S&M in culture and the body

Sun 4:15-5:45 - Rose Solarium

Technical skills classes are a frequent feature of BDSM education - and an important one, to keep partners physically and emotionally safe. However, it is also important to understand how pain functions to create or block intimacy. Instead of focusing on techniques or skills (impact play, torture rope), this class explores how pain functions as an intimate connection in an S/m scene, and how to use pain to enhance and deepen a connection with your partner. Techniques for processing pain, as well as cultural norms and values around pain will also be discussed.

Service - What is it and Why do People Crave it?

Sat 10:45-12:15 - Rose Solarium

This class will look at what service is and what it means to many in the BDSM lifestyle. When we think of service our minds tend to go certain places on the service spectrum: domestic, administrative, sexual and waitstaff based services all come to mind quickly and usually are focusing on the right side of the slash. Often forgotten are the service contributions from the left side of the slash as well as looking at what drives people from both sides of the slash to want to serve. All of these areas will be covered and discussed with interactive exercises to help you learn more about your feelings towards service and what you might be looking to receive from serving or being served.

How do you embrace/display "kinky" as an identity?

Sun 11:45-1:15 - Crown Court

This discussion oriented class revolves around contemporary perspectives on "kink" as a marker, aspect, or core component of one's identity. Our modest goal is to share stories, theories, and hopefully produce some conceptual insight by seeing how different people (researchers, practitioners, and members of the audience hopefully) navigate common identity dilemmas. Personally, Harper Cox navigates a problem of displaying her kinky self as an "out" sex worker and empowered sexual female/feminist while being culturally deligitimized at times for her appearance and practices, while thedomlygent struggles to embrace perverse kink in relationships and academic work while clinging to the problematic facade of straight privilege.
