This class is about simple techniques to make your rope work â??prettyâ??, suitable for photography or displaying yourself or rope bottom at parties. We will discuss how to be attentive to the way your rope and knots lay. We will incorporate weaving, decorative knots and find ways to creatively finish a tie (using up all the leftover rope). We incorporate the techniques we discuss into the Chest Harness and Karada but show how these techniques can be incorporated into to any tie. We will talk about how to incorporate other objects (rings, wood, chopsticks) into our ties. Class participants will be encouraged to be imaginative, to develop their own artistic style and exchange ideas with the class.
We will work on 2 or 3 basic corset designs, and then learn to weave smaller rope such as paracord into our corsets to add structure so that our corsets do what corsets traditionally do, squeeze in the some places, push and support in others. We will learn how to weave beautiful patterns into our corsets by using multiple rope colors. Although corsets are traditionally worn around the torso, this technique can be modified for multiple parts of the body (or even two bodies if you get creative).
This class does not require a rope bottom nor does not require experience. We will be learning our techniques by tying rope around our own thighs because they donâ??t wiggle as much when you tickle them (usually).

But we can make informed choices about which types of risk we may be more willing, or entirely unwilling, to assume. Risk profiles are highly individual creatures: what seems reasonable to one person may not make sense for another. Class participants will work through a framework identifying the various levels of risk involved with different types of ties and suspensions. The purpose of the class is to encourage participants to develop individual profiles.

In this class you'll learn not one, but TWO, suspension-worthy harnesses: the Woven Butterfly (a hands-free chest harness) and the Black Knot Hip Harness. If suspension is your goal someday, these two harnesses are great to add to your toolkit. Uplines won't be covered in this class and no one will be suspended. These classes seldom touch on how to negotiate scenes more intense than a typical flogging - or assume that one will automatically have gained the confidence and communication skills to express boundaries while negotiating a scene near the edge of one's comfort level. This class will address generally asserting boundaries with a top or dominant from a bottoming or submissive role; but also include handouts with some safety issues to be aware of with some of the most popular 'edgy' play - understanding that one person's edge is another's bread and butter so there is no way for the class to be comprehensive for everyone in that.
